The ICP DAS TouchPAD (TPD) features all-in-one functions, such as quick deployment, rapid integration, easy maintenance and display, it cutting the cost of installing a PLC and HMI, yet provides similar or even more convenient features. The ICP DAS TPD functions as a communication interface to control the devices, and can work as a controller that is equipped with display functions which adds more value and increases your competitiveness in project implementation.

The SC-4104-W1 module provides three types of built-in control logic, and each type provides three interlocking control functions. You can freely add functions to quickly build and design the most appropriate applications.


In most temperature control applications, one master control panel is usually used to work with more than one control box. However, the master control panel can only communicate with the control boxes connected under its architecture. Each time a new sensor or module is added to the system, a new architecture needs to be designed. However, the driver for the TPD-283U-H HMI allows new modules to be freely added at any time, no matter whether you are using serial communication interfaces such as RS-485 or the Ethernet, providing a user-friendly and easy solution for the maintenance staff.


This solution is to implement a lighting control system in the wards at a local hospital. We will transform a traditional control system to an automated smart building control system. The following are the major devices used in the application:


The SC-4104-W1 module is perfect for use in a Fan Coil Unit or for indoor lighting control, and features built-in logic to allow quick switching between different scenarios. A variety of interlocking reaction scenarios are provided that allow you to quickly switch to the desired fan speed or lighting intensity.


The LC-101 module is used for lighting control in the wards and walkways.


TPD-283U-H is a 2.8-inch HMI and is designed for the acquisition of data from the modules. It also provides seamless integration with the software (InduSoft) for central control. Unlike a traditional control panel, the TPD-283U-H features additional functions:

  1. Built-in DCON/Modbus Protocol, which allows communicating with the devices that are equipped with the same communication protocol, unlike a general control panel which can only control a few devices.
  2. A more flexible built-in C/ladder language, that can also function as a Gateway for different devices.
  3. A single RS-485 serial communication interface and a single Ethernet interface. In this solution, data is acquired from the lower modules and is then transmitted to the central monitoring software via the Ethernet.


The TPD-283U-H TPD and SC-4104-W1 module provide a wide range of options for use in different applications. In addition to the interlocking control, further control functions are provided, including:

  1. Cooling Control
  2. Heating Control
  3. Alarm Control

In this solution, the TPD replaces the previous controller and display, and the SC-4104-W1 module is used to replace the lighting control and Fan Coil Unit. This cost-effective and easy-to-use solution provides competitiveness in project implementation.
